In 2018, almost every second child who had appeared for the class 10th exams had failed to pass the exam. The overall pass percentage was recorded at a meagre 51.15%. Girls performed slightly better than boys with 55.34% and 47.61% students passing, respectively. However, the pass percentage in the state needs huge improvement for both the genders.
Last year, Jind’s Kartik had secured 99.6% marks to claim the State Topper title, closely followed by three students namely Selina Yadav, Sonali and Hari Om jointly making it to the second spot with 99% marks.
Earlier this week, the Haryana Board Class 12th Results 2019 were declared by BSEH, and the overall pass percentage was recorded at 74.48%, taking a 10% leap from last year’s 63.84%. In the past two years, the state education board has exercised clampdown on events of mass cheating and unfair means during exams.
This year too BSEH had re-organized exam papers for Hindi, English, Science, Mathematics, Physical & Health Education (PHE), Urdu and Indian Music (Vocal) (MHV) as well as Social Science (SOS) and Sanskrit (SAN), on 4th and 5th April 2019 for class 10th. The re-exams were conducted in the wake of mass cheating episodes reported in various schools across several districts of the state.
