GSEB Class 12 Exam Postponed Due To Covid-19, Fresh Schedule To Be Announced Soon

GSEB Class 12 Exam 2021: The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the rising number of covid-19 cases across the country. 

GSEB Class 12 Exam 2021: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced the postponement of the GSEB class 12 board examination 2021. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the rising number of covid-19 cases across the country. 

"The exams however will be conducted once the Covid situation is under control," Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani was quoted by Times of India in its report. 

Earlier, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) had scheduled the GSEB class 12 board examination to be conducted from May 10 to 25, 2021. Previously, the state government had said that it will review the covid-19 situation across the state on May 15, 2021, and afterwards will announce the fresh dates for the board examination. 

The Gujarat CMO on April 15 tweeted, "In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Gujarat Govt decides to postpone Class 10 & 12 board examinations, scheduled to be held between May 10 to 25, and mass promotion for students of std 1 to 9 & 11. The new dates will be announced after reviewing the coronavirus situation on May 15."

The GSEB class 10 board examinations had already been cancelled in view of the coronavirus pandemic. The Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani had announced to grant mass promotion to regular GSEB Class 10 students. However, students who are re-appearing in the class 10 board examinations will have to sit in for the examination this year. The schedule for the examination will be notified after the situations become conducive to conduct the examination.

Most of the state boards had already either postponed or cancelled their board exams in view of the rising number of coronavirus cases. Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) have also cancelled the class 10th board exams and had postponed the class 12th board exams in light of the pandemic.
