Class 10, 12 Board Exam: Even as some regions are still wary of the Covid-19 situation in the country and mulling over the board examinations, Goa has announced board exams for Class 10 and 12 classes. Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams will be held in April-May 2021, the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary said. Board Chairman Ramakrishna Samant said the state government has approved the proposal to conduct the standard 10 and 12 board examinations in April and May next year.  Practical examination for HSSC would be held from April 1 to April 24, while written exam would be held from April 26 to May 15, he said. The practical examination for SSC will be held from April 5 to April 30 and written exam from May 13 to May 31.

Subject-wise time-table will be notified by January 15, 2021, he said.


Meanwhile the West Bengal government has gone ahead and declared the dates of class 10 and 12 board exam. The West Bengal Board exams will be held in the month of June. However, exams are usually held between February and March every year.

"The class 10 (Madhyamik) exams will be held first and the class 12 (Ucchya Madhyamik) examinations after that," West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said, as per news agency PTI. On the other hand,in an important announcement made this week, Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal said that no CBSE board exams will take place before February 2021. A decision over the same will be taken later.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not released the dates of the practical or theory exams yet but has confirmed that the theory exams will be conducted in the written mode this year, despite the pandemic.
