Foreign Universities will now have to receive a nod from the UGC for setting up their campuses in India. On Thursday, January 5, 2023, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar took to twitter to announce the latest development around Foreign Universities Campuses in India.

In a series of tweets, the UGC Chairman also underlined the roadmap for the operation of foreign universities in India. In his tweets, M Jagadesh Kumar has said that “foreign universities setting up campuses in India will have freedom to devise their own admission process.”

“Foreign varsities will have to ensure quality of education imparted at their Indian campuses is on par with their main campus,” the UGC Chairman further added.
