New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was to release Class 10 and 12 results by end of July but there seems to be a delay according to the University Grants Commission's latest notice. “The performance of term-l has already been communicated to the schools. The evaluation of term-ll is going on and the process of result preparation will start. The final result will be declared by combining the weightage based on the performance of both the terms. The entire process will take about a month period for the declaration of the result," said UGC in its latest notice.

Noting that some universities have started their admission process even though the CBSE is yet to declare Class 12 results, Chairman Jagadesh Kumar Wednesday said the CBSE students will be deprived of admission if the last date is fixed by the universities prior to the declaration of the result by the board. The move comes after the CBSE last week reached out to the commission requesting it to ask universities to fix their admission schedule in accordance with their results, according to PTI.

According to News18, class 12 result is likely to be out by July end while the result for class 10 is expected to be released in the first week of August. The delay, reportedly, is because of the two-term exams held this year and the difficulty in reaching a formula to calculate the result. The result will consist of term 1, term 2 and internal assessment, however, the exact weightage hasn’t been announced yet, the PTI report stated.

According to CBSE, marks will also be given to those students who couldn’t attend both the terms for which a different formula will be applied.

Responding to CBSE’s request, UGC said, "It has come to the notice that some universities have started registration in undergraduate courses for the session 2022-23. In this scenario, the students of CBSE will be deprived of admission if the last date is fixed by the universities prior to the CBSE results declaration," the UGC said in a letter to vice-chancellors, reported PTI.

"It is, therefore, requested that all higher education institutions fix the last date of admission to undergraduate courses after the declaration of CBSE results to provide sufficient time to such candidates," the UGC letter added.

Aside from CBSE, CISCE has also not announced its result dates, however, ICSE and ISC are likely to issue the results within a week
