The Election Commission of India (ECI) released a new comic book ‘'Chacha Chaudhary aur Chunavi Dangal' today. CEC Shri Rajiv Kumar along with ECs Shri Anup Chandra Pandey and Shri Arun Goel launched the comic book today which is a joint initiative of the ECI and Pran comics. The initiative comes from the SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation Program) as a move to create electoral awareness amongst children and youth. 


The comic book uses popular comic characters like Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu, Raaka, Dhamaka Singh, Billoo and others, to create awareness around elections among children. Releasing the book, the Election Commission also stated that around 30,000 copies of the comic book shall be distributed among children for free, and children will also be able to view these books digitally. 


The ECI also shared glimpses of the comic book release on X (formerly Twitter). “ECI ropes in Chacha Chaudhary & Sabu to educate & motivate young and future voters,” the ECISVEEP said in a post on X, sharing glimpses of the comic book release today.

“Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu, Raaka,Dhamaka Singh, Billoo & other comic characters will now create awareness amongst children about elections. In an unique initiative, the comic book, "Chacha Chaudhary aur Chunavi Dangal", published by Pran Comics, was released by the Commission today,” read a post from Spokesperson ECI on X today. 


“Chacha Chaudhary ka dimag computer se bhi tez chalta hai,” and his formidable intellect will now be harnessed by the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) division of ECI. 30,000 copies will be distributed for free and lakhs and children will also view them digitally. The comic has 10 short stories on electoral prospects,” the ECI was reported as saying by news agency ANI. 


Notably, the comic launch and electoral awareness initiative by the ECI gains particular attention considering the upcoming assembly elections in states including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, MP, and Telangana, as well as the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
