The Delhi University Student Union has announced a student internship scheme. The scheme aims to offer experiential learning opportunities to over 1,000 students, as reported by PTI. The summer internship program of 2023 presents an extraordinary opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students, including those enrolled in the School of Open Learning (SOL) and Non-Collegiate  Women's Education Board (NCWEB), coinciding with the university's momentous centenary. This program aims to provide unparalleled benefits to participants, including the acquisition of practical skills, exposure to various industries, and professional growth, all within the confines of their summer break.

By emphasizing the university's dedication to fostering academic excellence and nurturing future leaders, this initiative extends its reach across a diverse range of disciplines and sectors, opening doors for aspiring individuals.

The primary objective of the scheme is to offer a wide array of internship opportunities that cater to diverse interests and fields of study. Spanning a duration of 8 to 12 weeks, this program ensures that participating students have ample time to fully engage in their assigned roles and actively acquire hands-on experience.

"The program offers a diverse array of internship placements in collaboration with renowned organisations, both within the local community and beyond. Students can choose from a wide range of disciplines, including but not limited to business, engineering, humanities, sciences, arts, social sciences, and technology," the student union said in the statement.

The scheme also offers flexible working hours, accommodating various academic schedules and individual needs.

"Each participating student will be assigned a dedicated mentor who will provide guidance, support, and regular feedback throughout the internship period. This mentorship will prove invaluable in honing skills, exploring career paths, and building professional networks," the student union said.

The student union has announced that students who successfully complete the internship will be presented with an official certificate, acknowledging their valuable contributions and achievements. This certification will serve as a testament to their practical skills, work experience, and unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth.

DUSU President Akshit Dahiya said, "The launch of the Summer Internship 2023 reaffirms the DUSU dedication to facilitating holistic development, nurturing talent, and empowering the student community. It would be one of the biggest internship programs provided by any Students' Union ever."
