As per the order, attendance will be maintained but it will be under the discretion of parents whether to send their wards to schools or not.
“While the records of children coming to school be maintained, the same should not be used for attendance purpose as sending the child to school is completely optional for parents,” the order further said.
As the schools are set to open from January 18, the order also said that students must follow the standard operating procedures for Covid-19 such as maintaining social distancing and wearing masks.
All schools in the national Capital have been physically shut since March last year in order to avoid the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. This will be the first time after 10 months that students will return to their campuses.
Board examinations are going to be held from May 4, for which pre-board, the practical exam will also be done, due to which the government allowed the school to open.
