CTET 2019 exam centre modification has been facilitated by the  Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the wake of unprecedented response from teaching aspirants for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2019 in Patna, Muzaffarpur and Guwahati. The Board has decided to add more examination centres in the states of Bihar and Assam to ensure smooth conduct of the examination. CBSE has added more examination centres at Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Silchar apart from Guwahati in Assam, and Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, and Vaishali, in addition to the Patna and Muzaffarpur in Bihar.

“Further, due to more number of applicants in Patna, Muzaffarpur and Guwahati beyond the capacity of schools and colleges in these cities, the CBSE has decided to add more examination cities in Assam and Bihar” reads CBSE’s notice pertaining to addition of examination cities for CTET 2019.

Candidates can login to the correction window on the official website of CTET – ctet.nic.in, and choose three cities in preferential order. As per CBSE, “the candidates who have earlier selected Patna, Muzaffarpur and Guwahati are specifically informed to modify their choice of examination cities from the new list of examination cities. However, in case of still more number of candidates in these cities, the candidates may be allotted their second/ third choice of examination city or any other city in the possible nearby area.”

A whopping 18 lakh plus candidates had registered for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2018, as the 11th edition of CTET was organized after a hiatus of two years. This year too, scores of applicants are expected to have submitted online application forms due to which the registrations in Patna, Muzaffarpur and Guwahati went over and above the seating capacity of schools and colleges in these cities.

The last date to modify choice of cities is Monday, 1st April 2019, next week.
