New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday declared the results of their 2019 class 12 board examination. The girls seemed to have outshined the exams as the two toppers, who have scored highest marks are both girls.

Hansika Shukla from DPS Meerut Road, Ghaziabad and Karishma Arora from SD Public School, Muzaffarnagar have both scored 499/500 marks, becoming country toppers with 99.80%.

Speaking exclusively to ABP News, Hansika Shukla said “I have been able to achieve this because of enduring support from my parents and teachers”. She said that they always motivated me by saying I had a potential.

Hansika chose History, Music (Vocal), Psychology, English, Political Science as her subjects and scored 100 in all subjects, except English, where she lost one mark.

She said she did not take any coaching and prepared for the exams on her own.

She said that she stayed away from all distractions, especially social media and instead chose to listen to music for refreshments. She also said that she aspires to pursue Civil Services and become an IFS officer.

"The results are available on the board's website and students can check it using their admit card IDs," a senior official said. The results have been announced within 28 days of the last date of the examination.

The Class 12 examination began on February 16, earlier than previous years. The results, which is usually announced by the third week of May, is also being announced earlier than scheduled.

Around 13 lakh students appeared for the examination.
