The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has acknowledged technical issues affecting the online facility for accessing scanned copies of Class 12 answer sheets. The board stated that the service is expected to become operational again by 2 pm today and assured students that they will receive adequate time to complete the process once the portal is restored.
The development comes amid growing concerns from students who faced difficulties while applying for scanned copies under the verification process. Several candidates reported that the CBSE portal stopped responding during the application process, while others claimed that payment gateways failed during submission.

According to multiple student complaints, the portal functioned normally during the early morning hours but started facing glitches later in the day, causing delays and incomplete transactions.
Students Face Problems During Verification Process
On the second day of the scanned-copy application window, many Class 12 students took to social media and online forums to report issues with the CBSE website. Several users claimed the portal stopped working midway through the process, especially during fee payment and submission stages.
The technical disruption triggered anxiety among students seeking access to scanned answer sheets for verification and re-evaluation purposes. With thousands attempting to access the service simultaneously, complaints regarding slow response time and failed transactions increased throughout the day.
In response, CBSE confirmed that a technical problem had affected the service and requested students to remain patient while restoration work was underway.
OSM Controversy Intensifies After Technician’s Claims
The latest portal issue surfaced shortly after fresh allegations emerged regarding CBSE’s On Screen Marking (OSM) system. A technician reportedly associated with answer sheet scanning made several claims about operational challenges and software-related problems during a conversation with ABP NEWS.

The technician alleged that the scanning software frequently lagged and crashed, leading to repeated delays in the process. He also claimed that if scanned answer sheets failed to upload properly, the entire scanning process had to be repeated.
The allegations further raised questions about backlog management, quality checks, and infrastructure used at scanning centres.
