The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday announced that it will conduct the 2024 Class 10 and Class 12 board exams from February 15, 2024. The announcement came as the board declared the result for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2023 on its official website wherein the overall pass percentage stands at 87.33 per cent, as per the CBSE. Trivandrum region topped with a 99.91 pass percentage.


Students who have been eagerly awaiting their results can now access and download their CBSE 12th results for the year 2023. The official websites where the results can be obtained are cbseresult.nic.in and results.cbse.in .

In CBSE Class 12 Board Exam Result 2023, the Girls outshined Boys by 6.01 per cent with a 90.68 pass percentage. The CBSE decided not to award first, second, and third divisions to its students, to avoid unhealthy competition. “No merit list will be declared by CBSE to avoid unhealthy competition among students. However, the board will issue merit certificate to 0.1 per cent students who have scored the highest marks in various subjects,” a senior board official said, as per news agency PTI.


With 87.33 per cent students clearing the exam, a dip of 5.38 per cent has been logged as compared to the last year. The pass percentage last year was 92.71 per cent.


As previously mentioned, Girls have outshined the boys in class 12th CBSE Board Exams 2023. 90.68% of the total girls who appeared for exams have passed while only 84.67% of the boys who appeared for CBSE Class 12th Board Exams were able to clear it in 2023. Girls have done better than boys by 6.01%.  


For the CBSE board exam 2024, the CBSE has revised its assessment scheme by introducing more Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and reducing the weightage for short and long-answer-type questions. The decision was taken aiming to align assessment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommendations.


The CBSE exams are expected to be reformed in 2024 with the introduction of the new National Curriculum Framework (NCF).
