The coveted top position this year has been held jointly by two girl students hailing from the state of Uttar Pradesh - Hansika Shukla from DPS, Meerut, Ghaziabad & Karishma Arora from S. D. Public school, Muzaffarnagar. Both the students secured 499/500 marks i.e. 99.8%. Gender-wise, girls registered a pass percentage of 88.70%, performing 9% better as compared to boys at 79.4% pass percentage. However, both girls and boys students have fared slightly better than last year.
Region-wise, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala maintained its top spot with 98.20% students passing in 2019. The district surpassed its own last’s year pass percentage of 97.32%.
Chennai, Tamil Nadu followed suit with 92.93% pass percentage, and with Delhi at number three with 91.87%. Foreign schools recorded a pass percentage of 95.43%.
Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS) recorded a pass percentage of 98.54%, followed by Tibetan Schools at 96%, Government aided schools at 88.49% and Private schools at a distant 82.59%.
Speculations were rife that CBSE will release the board exam results early this year, however no official confirmation for the result date had come from CBSE. The CBSE officials announced the Higher Secondary Results 2019 in a press conference held at New Delhi, India. Soon after the results were hosted on CBSE’s official results’ portal – cbseresults.nic.in.
