CBSE Class 12 Biology 2019 Paper Review: Medical students who attempted the CBSE Class 12 Biology 2019 paper today i.e. on 27th March 2019 could not ask for more from the exam setters. The biology paper was short enough to give students ample time to think and perfectly draft their answers and still have time left to revise. To everyone’s satisfaction, the paper mostly comprised of direct questions set straight from the prescribed NCERT Biology course book. As per examiners, it was easier than the last year’s biology exam.


The CBSE Class 12 Biology 2019 exam was quite predictable as questions were not tweaked or indirect, rather the questions looked familiar to those students who had practised the past question papers and mock tests. The paper has been dubbed as the easiest of all the papers conducted for CBSE class 12th medical stream so far.

The Diagrams were easy and expected. Even 1 mark and 2 marks questions were a cakewalk for an average student. One or two questions in 5 marks section were tricky but not too difficult. Overall while average students can expect a 50+ score out of total 70 marks in today’s CBSE Class 12 Biology 2019 Paper, those who had prepared well could expect a score of 60+.

Section A – 5 Questions – 1 Mark Each – Total 5 Marks

Section B – 7 Questions – 2 Marks Each – Total 14 Marks

Section C – 12 Questions – 3 Marks Each – Total 36 Marks

Section D – 3 Questions – 5 Marks Each – Total 15 Marks

Total Questions 27 – Total Marks 70

As per CBSE, the theory exam paper for Class 12 Biology subject is held for 70 marks, while 30 marks are assigned internally via practical exam.
