According to reports, a total of 209,926 candidates appeared for the CAT 2019 examination this year, which is mandatory for admission to flagship PGP 2020-22 and other programmes in 20 IIM institutes and other top rated Business schools including FMS, MDI, NITIE, SPJIMR, XLRI and others.
The CAT 2019 examinations were held in two sessions on November 24, 2019 in as many as 376 test centres spread across 156 cities of the country.

The candidates who have qualified in CAT 2019 examinations will be called for the interview and further admission procedures. Candidates can check the complete details for CAT 2019 admission procedure on the official website of CAT 2019.
According to IIM Kohzikode, as many as 10 students have topped the CAT 2019 examination, scoring an overall 100 percentile. Just like last year, all the 10 candidates are male and are from either engineering or technology backgrounds.
About CAT
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based exam held in India. It scores a candidate on the basis of Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). IMM started CAT examination to select students for their business administration programs. The test is conducted every year by one of the IIMs, which is based on a rotational policy.
