Biomedical Engineering Colleges: Biomedical Engineering is a rapidly growing field that deals with medicine, education, and Human Quality of Life Issues. List Of Biomedical Engineering Colleges In India


Vellore Institute Of Technology


The Vellore Institute of Technology, located in Tamil Nadu, offers a Biomedical Engineering programme at an Undergraduate level. Students interested in enrolling for this programme should score a minimum of 60% marks Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology.


IIT Madras


The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, is an Institute of National Importance that was established in 1959. IIT Madras offers Biomedical Engineering at four levels which include UG, PG, Diploma, and Doctoral. Admissions into IIT Madras B.Tech programmes are based on JEE Advanced scores. However, for getting admissions in M.Tech programmes candidates will require GATE scores.


NIT Rourkela


NIT Rourkela is a National level institution funded by the Government of India. This University has various departments which offer UG, PG, Doctorals and PhD programmes for students. The department of Biomedical Engineering in NIT Rorkela was established in 2007 with a objective of providing a multidisciplinary research. To be eligible for admissions in this programme candidates must score a minimum of 55% in Class 12th.


SRM Institute of Science And Technology


SRM University is a private University located in Katankulathur, Tamil Nadu. The department of Biomedical Engineering is SRM Institute of Science and Technology was established in 2004. SRM University is one of the few Universities in India which offers B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD programmes in Biomedical Engineering. The Biomedical Department is well equipped with research laboratories in the areas of Biomaging, Biomaterial, Bio Mechanics, and Media Image Processing.


IIT Delhi


The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, was established in 1961 and is located near Hauz Khas. IIT Delhi offers various courses at different levels: UG, PG and Doctoral. To be eligible for admission into Biomedical Engineering courses in IIT Delhi a candidate must have a valid GATE score.
