Assam School Reopening: In view of the improving COVID-19 situation in Assam, the state government has announced that physical classes for Class 10th students would resume from Monday, September 20. This announcement was made by Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. He has instructed school authorities to make sure that all school staff has been vaccinated before the commencement of the physical classes. This decision was taken at the state's weekly cabinet meeting.
No class can have more than 30 students seated in it:
While talking to the media in this regard, State Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu said, “We have decided to resume Physical Classes for Class 10th from Monday. Classes would no longer be conducted online for them. However, no more than 30 students would be allowed for each section of the class. A new SoP would also be issued for Teachers and Students of Class 10th by tomorrow. Hence, I would urge students to be mentally prepared to attend classes physically from next Monday.
Compliance to COVID-19 protocols mandatory for physical classes:
Dr Pegu also said, "Students and teachers will have to follow all COVID-19 protocols while attending classes, while cleaning of classrooms should begin from today itself." He also said that physical lectures for other classes would also resume in the upcoming days.
He also informed that physical lectures for Class 12th and degree courses have already resumed in the state.
