The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has declared the Assam Board HS Final Year i.e. Class 12th Result 2020 today. According to the Board, this year the pass percentage of Science stream is 88.06% and that of commerce 88.18%. The overall pass percentage of the Arts stream is 78.28% and for Vocational stream is 91.55%.
The top for Arts stream is jointly held by Pubali Deka who is from Patharighat Higher Secondary School in Darrang district and Shraddha Borgohain of Ramanujan Junior College, Nagaon district. They scored 481 marks of a total of 500.
In Science stream Abinash Kalita of Anundoram Barooah Academy, Barpeta district topped with 486 marks out of 500. In Commerce Krishna Maheswari of Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh scored the highest with 471 out of 500.
It must be noted that the declaration of result was delayed due to the coronavirus Covid19 transmission in the country and the resulting lockdown imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prevent its spread.

Assam Higher Secondary Education Council had organized the Class 12th Examination 2020 from February 12 to March 14 at around 72 centres across the state. Around 2.34 lakh students had appeared in the exam. In the year 2019, the a total of 2.42 lakh students had appeared from Arts, Science and Commerce streams.
