7th pay commission: As a gift on the occasion of Teachers' Day, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to give 7th pay commission pay scale to teachers and professors of state colleges and universities. In a state cabinet meeting that was chaired by the Chief Minister of the state on Tuesday, Yogi Adityanath approved the implementation of the seventh pay scale.


Also, for this the professionals will not have to wait much longer, as the new pay scale to the state and related cadre teachers will come into force from January 1, 2016. It will cover 18 state universities, which also includes one law university, one deemed and an open university. However, the registrar, financial officer, controller of examination, pro VC and VC will not be covered under this.

The decision was taken in the light of revision of pay scales of Central Government employees on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. According to an official spokesman, the government will bear financial burden of Rs 921.54 crore for this hike and the state will bear 50 per cent of the burden.

Besides, there is a good news for the teachers of the state of Haryana as well. In a notification released by the state government, it has approved the pay of teachers and equivalent cadres in universities and colleges following the revision of pay scales of Central Government employees on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

Haryana Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu was reported by the Jagran Josh as saying that in Under Graduate Colleges, the pay of principals would be equivalent to the pay scale of Associate Professor, that is, academic level 13A with rationalized entry pat of Rs 1,31,400 with the existing special allowance of Rs 2,000 per month.
