Inculcating a habit of regularly reading English newspapers, magazines, or books can greatly expand your vocabulary and comprehension skills while keeping you informed about global affairs. Exposure to diverse content not only enhances awareness, but cultivates empathy, strong imagination, and fosters critical thinking skills in the reader.
3. Utilise Technology for Learning: Leveraging technological resources such as language learning apps and online courses enhances traditional learning methods, making language acquisition more interactive and free from geographical constraints. For example, Burlington English's SpeechTrainer® uses advanced speech-processing technology exclusively developed for language learning. The specialized training model traces the students’ native accents to analyze their spoken English at the phonemic level, followed by personalized training to correct mispronunciations – all in real-time!
4. Test, Correct, and Practice: Regular self-assessment and correction allow you to identify areas for improvement and refine your language skills. By actively seeking feedback and addressing your linguistic shortcomings, you can enhance your accuracy and fluency. Sometimes, feedback helps us introspect and assimilate information faster. You can always ask your friends and family to be your accountability partners, inspiring them to learn too or seek out technologically enhanced speech trainers!
5. Corporate English for International Mobility: Specific skills in spoken and written English are required while engaging in a corporate setup. It encompasses a business vocabulary, formal writing styles, effective presentation techniques, and interpersonal communication skills tailored to workplace environments.
