Ahead of the civic polls, the BJP launched a fresh attack on the AAP government in Delhi using a series of videos featuring 'Yamraj and Chitragupta'. One of the videos, tweeted with the BJP’s 2014 pre-election slogan “Janta Maaf Nahi Karegi”, showed actors dressed as the Hindu deities, Yamraj and Chitragupta, walking on the streets of Delhi amid a riot.

In the video, Chitragupta tells Yamraj that peace in the national capital was being disturbed by a man who came to power eight years ago and thought himself to be the owner of Delhi. Chitragupta says: “Appeasement politics has destroyed the communal harmony in Delhi.”

The video ends with a jingle that says whoever gave that person [CM Arvind Kejriwal] a chance had been betrayed.

In another video, Chitragupta tells Yamraj that the government of Delhi had betrayed its people by opening 850 liquor vends instead of schools. "Rivers of liquor are flowing in Delhi to fill the pockets of that person [Kejriwal] through commission."

The BJP also attacked the AAP government in Punjab and CM Bhagwant Mann over the issue of drug abuse. In the video, Chitrugupta tells Yamraj that Kejriwal and Mann got a chance to clean up the state and free the youth from drugs. But after AAP won the assembly polls, the leaders have been busy in campaigning in other states.

Before the 2014 general elections, the BJP had released several short videos, attacking the erstwhile Congress government under its 'Janta Maaf Nahi Karegi' campaign.

Voting for election to the 250-ward Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be held on December 4 and the results will be declared on December 7, 2022.
