Water supply in various parts of Delhi will be affected on January 18 and 19 as informed by Delhi Jal Board on Tuesday. As a result of the ongoing maintenance work and flowmeter installation at the Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant, the water supply in Delhi's southern regions from Sonia Vihar plant will remain affected for 16 hours starting from 10 a.m. on January 18. 


Water will not be available on the evening of January 18 and on the morning of January 19 as well. 


"Due to flowmeter installation and maintenance work at Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant, water supply will be affected for 16 hours on 18.01.2024 from 10:00 am onwards. Water supply will not be available on 18.01.2024 (evening) and 19.01.2024 (morning) in following areas..." tweeted Delhi Jal Board.


The areas which will face the water supply issue are Kailash Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Vasant Kunj, G.B. Pant Polytechnic, Okhla, Okhla Sabzi Mandi, Kalkaji, Kalkaji Extn., Sarai Kale Khan, Moolchand, Jal Vihar, Greater Kailash, GK North, GK South, Devli, Govindpuri, Ambedkar Nagar, Shyam Nagar Colony, Dakshin Puri, Shahpur Jat, Amar Colony, Kotla Mubarak pur, Panchsheel Park, Sarita Vihar, Apollo, Deer Park, Sidhartha Nagar, Srinivaspuri, Malviya Nagar, Gitanjali, and Chhatarpur. A part of NDMC and its adjoining areas will also be affected.


Delhi Jal Board also requested the residents of these areas to store sufficient water well in advance to avoid problems in case of water requirement. Water tanker facility will also be made available on request to the people of the affected areas.
