A man stabbed a teenage girl 16 times and struck her with a stone slab as people pass by, staring in alarm but doing nothing. The girl, 16, stands still, but the frenzied attack continues, according to extremely disturbing footage captured on a security camera in Rohini, north Delhi, on Sunday. 


The teen was killed by her alleged boyfriend, Sahil, on a busy street full of people, but no one came to her aid, as captured on CCTV. Sahil, a 20-year-old AC technician, was apprehended today in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh.


As the video of the horrific incident surfaced on the internet, several reactions poured in, including those of the Delhi CM, DCW Chief, and other top officials, condemning the murder, and the parents of the teen murdered demanding justice. Here are the top points:


1. The mother of the 16-year-old teen stated that she has no idea who Sahil is or what the intentions of the person responsible for her daughter's murder were. Expressing similar anguish and pain, the father of the teen demanded stringent punishment for the accused.









2. Rekha Sharma, the chairperson of the National Commission for Women, expressed her surprise that despite the fact that several people were present when the incident occurred, the accused was able to kill the girl and no one intervened.






3. BJP MP from East Delhi Gautam Gambhir also questioned the moral responsibility of those who witnessed the teen's murder. In a Hindi tweet, Gambhir said: "If there had been such a barbaric attack on their sister or daughter, would these people have gone on like this? Animals are not just them, they are all".

4. The accused was arrested by Delhi Police today from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr. Further investigation into the matter is underway. According to the police, the teen was going to attend a function during which the incident took place. 






5. According to the police, they knew each other and had a disagreement or parted ways. The accused (Sahil) had a grudge and committed this heinous murder. It's a passion crime. More research is being conducted, the police said. 






6. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the murder. He also urged Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena to take strict action over the murder of a minor girl in Shahbad Dairy here and said it was his responsibility to maintain law and order in the city. 


7. Swati Maliwal, the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, said, "All of this was captured on CCTV. Several people witnessed this but did not pay attention. Women and girls are increasingly unsafe in Delhi. I request that the central government convene a high-level meeting with the Union HM, Delhi LG, DCW chief, and Delhi CM," she was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. 


8. BJP leader Kapil Mishra compared the heinous crime to the Shraddha murder case, saying, "Another painful murder of Shraddha in Delhi." This time, the murder was committed openly in front of everyone on the road. How much longer will minor Shraddha or Sakshi daughters be sacrificed in this manner to monsters like Aftab and Sarfaraz?"






9. Sahil's landlord stated that he had been living in the area with his family for nearly two years and had no prior reports of brawls or scuffles. "Sahil had been staying here for the last two years along with his three sisters and parents. His father's name is Sarfaraz. He never had any fights with anyone in the neighbourhood," his landlord told ANI.


10. Sahil attacked the teen with a knife and repeatedly stabbed her in the Shahbad Dairy area on Sunday evening. The video shows that the knife appeared to become stuck at one point, and the killer had to shake it loose.


11. According to preliminary findings of the postmortem report the 16-year-old minor girl was stabbed 16 times. Her head was ripped apart after being hit with a heavy object. The police are awaiting the detailed autopsy report, ABP News reporter Varun Jain reported.
