A Delhi court on Thursday extended the police custody of accused Sahil, involved in the horrific murder of a minor girl named Sakshi in New Delhi's Shahabad Dairy area. Earlier, Sahil had confessed to the murder and said that he has no regrets for his actions. His Instagram chat reveals that he was in a relationship with many girls at the same time. Sahil was sent to police remand for 2 days. The conspiracy to kill the minor girl was hatched 15 days before the incident, ABP news sources said. The accused was frustrated as he was being ignored by the girl, the sources said.

Sahil stabbed Sakshi 16 times in what appeared to be a fit of rage. In an extremely disturbing footage captured on a security camera, Sahil could be seen stabbing the girl 16 times and striking her with a stone slab as people passed by, staring in alarm but doing nothing. She stood still, but the frenzied attack continued, as passersby just looked on.

The 20-year-old technician was apprehended earlier on Monday from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr and further investigation is underway in the matter. As per the police, the teen was going to attend a function during which the incident took place.

Calling it a passion crime, the police added that both knew each other but had a disagreement or parted ways. The accused Sahil had a grudge against and committed the gruesome crime. More research is underway in connection with the matter.

Sahil's landlord stated that he had been living in the area with his family for nearly two years and had no prior reports of brawls or scuffles. "Sahil had been staying here for the last two years along with his three sisters and parents. His father's name is Sarfaraz. He never had any fights with anyone in the neighbourhood," his landlord told ANI.

According to preliminary findings of the postmortem report the 16-year-old minor girl was stabbed 16 times. Her head was ripped apart after being hit with a heavy object. The police are awaiting the detailed autopsy report, as per ABP News sources.  On Sunday, Sakshi’s last rituals were performed at Delhi’s Shahbad crematorium where speaking to ANI, her parents demanded for justice.
