New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was sent to a five-day CBI remand by the Rouse Avenue court on Monday, a day after he was arrested by the CBI in connection with the alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now withdrawn liquor policy 2021-22.

Special judge M K Nagpal allowed the CBI's plea for the custodial interrogation of Sisodia.

Here's CBI's line of questioning for Manish Sisodia-

  • ABP Live has learned that the interrogation is being conducted by keeping a copy of statements under 164 CrPC by government officials in front of Sisodia.

  • According to sources, he is being questioned on how did the draft copy of the excise policy reach the South Lobby.

  • According to CBI sources, the members of the South Lobby, a Hyderabad-based coterie of politicians and liquor businessmen, stayed in a hotel in South Delhi from March 14, 2021, to March 17, 2021, and used its business centre to make photocopies of the draft of the excise policy.

  • On March 18, 2021, Sisodia allegedly gave some documents to his secretary C Arvind, which was a draft of the Group of Ministers’ report on the excise policy, to be put before the Council of Ministers.

  • The CBI found that the number of pages allegedly photocopied or printed by the South Lobby members in the hotel’s business centre was the same as the GoM draft report handed over by Sisodia to his secretary.

  • The CBI also recovered two suggestions about the policy that were discussed in chats among the South Lobby members, which were included in the final excise policy draft of GoM on March 22.

  • It is alleged that a kickback of Rs 100 crore from the South lobby reached Vijay Nair through Sameer Mahendru for the AAP election campaign.

  • Based on the pieces of evidence, Sisodia will be questioned on how did the excise draft policy reach the South Lobby.
