In the third incident of its kind this month, a two-year-old child faced a dog attack on Tuesday in Delhi. The incident unfolded on a street in northeast Delhi's Vishwas Nagar, captured on CCTV.

In an X post, Delhi Police said: "A video showing a pet dog attacking a child in the area of Vishwas Nagar, Delhi, has surfaced online. A case under sections 289/337 IPC has been registered against the pet owner on the complaint of the victim’s parents".

The footage reveals a German Shepherd, one of the pet dogs, charging at a woman and seizing the child's leg with its jaw. The video also shows the woman falling to the ground while attempting to free the toddler from the dog's grasp.

Shortly after, additional dogs in the vicinity joined in attempting to attack the child. Nearby bystanders intervened swiftly, rescuing the woman and the toddler from the aggressive dogs.

The status of the child and mother's health following the attack remains unclear. It is uncertain whether the dog had a muzzle, but it was confirmed that the pet was unrestrained on the public street. As the dog assaulted the child, other dogs in the area made attempts to join the aggression, thwarted by the prompt actions of the people present.

This incident follows a similar event on January 9, where a seven-year-old girl was reportedly attacked by a neighbour's American Bully dog in Delhi's Rohini, sustaining 15 injuries. Additionally, on January 2, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl suffered three fractures and multiple stitches in an alleged dog attack in north Delhi's Burari while out for a walk with her grandfather.
