Aam Aadmi Party’s MCD poll candidate Joginder Singh has been booked under the Arms Act for allegedly flaunting a pistol, an official said. According to PTI, the Delhi Police have filed a case against Singh for allegedly brandishing a gun.






A video of the incident earlier went viral showing Joginder Singh, wearing a yellow T-shirt, waving a pistol while dancing with some people. The video was tweeted by the BJP.






The BJP earlier said that the video shows the reality of the Aam Aadmi Party candidates. Singh is Aam Aadmi Party’s MCD election candidate who has been fielded from Swaroop Nagar.


Taking suo moto cognizance of the viral video, a case under Arms Act has been registered against Singh on Tuesday and further investigation is underway, PTI reported citing a police official.

The civic polls, spanning 250 wards, are due on December 4. The polls are largely being seen as a contest between the AAP, Bhartiya Janata Party, and Congress. The counting of votes will be done on December 7.


Presently, the MCD is being ruled by the BJP and AAP is trying to make inroads in the municipal body.
