G20 Traffic Advisory: The Gurugram traffic police has issued an advisory for regulating vehicular movements in the city in view of the G20 Summit to be held in the national capital on September 9-10. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Gurugram (East) DCP (Traffic) Virender Vij said that there would be traffic restrictions in Gurugram to ensure the smooth functioning of the G20 Summit. He said that from September 7 midnight to September 10 midnight, traffic diversions will be imposed as heavy vehicles aren't allowed in Delhi.


"People going towards the airport are advised not to take the NH-48 route," Vij added.

  • According to the Gurguram Traffic Police advisory, traffic will be restricted on the Delhi and Gurugram National Highway-48 Delhi (Sirhaul) border. It added that the entry of all heavy goods vehicles and medium goods vehicles going to Delhi will be prohibited. However, only in the case of essential commodities, vehicles will be exempted.


 



  • People going to Delhi have been advised to avoid using personal vehicles and use the metro as much as possible. The advisory further stated that the entry of passenger buses to Delhi from National Highway-48 is prohibited. These buses will enter Delhi via Rajiv Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, M.G. Road, Sikandarpur Metro Station and Nathupur Red Light.


 



  • From 08.09.2023 to 10.09.2023, there will be more traffic of Delegates in Delhi Gurugram, hence vehicles may be stopped for some time near Shankar Chowk on National Highway-48.


 



  • Heavy vehicles going to Delhi from Patodi Gurugram Road, Farukhnagar Gurugram Road, National Highway-18, Patodi Gurugram Road, Farukhnagar, Sohna Road, will use KMP (Western Peripheral) Road.


 



  • Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said that prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC would be imposed in the city on these three days. "There will be a complete ban on drones on these days," he added, as quoted by Business Today.


 



  • NH-48 road journey towards IGI Airport Delhi will be affected from midnight 00 hours on the entry evening night of 07 & 08.09.2023 to midnight 00 hours on 10.09.2023. The advisory said that in case passengers are travelling to IGI Airport opt for a road journey, they are advised to make travel plans with sufficient time at hand to take the following routes:-


 



  • From Gurugram To T3: NH-48- From Rajeev chowk/ Iffco chowk to-Old Delhi Gurugram road-UER II Service road NH48 -T3 Terminal road.


 



  • From Gurugram to T1: NH-48- From Rajeev chowk/ Iffco chowk to- Old Delhi Gurugram road UER II- Service road NH48 T3 Terminal road - Service road NH-48- Sanjay T-Point Ullan Batar Marg Terminal T1.


 



  • There will be no permission for heavy vehicles to enter from the Rajokri Border to Delhi except for ambulances and Fire brigade. Apart from this, all essential commodities vehicles/passenger buses can go to Delhi from Gurugram via Iffco chowk - MG Road Sikanderpur Metro Station- Mahroli road- towards Aaya Nagar Delhi, the advisory stated.


 



  • Apart from these measures, strict traffic regulations will be enforced in Udyog Vihar and the area of Ambience Mall because the South Korean delegation and other delegations are expected to stay there, among other hotels like The Oberoi in Udyog Vihar.


 



  • "The delegations will reach the hotels directly from the Delhi airport on Friday. They will go to Delhi for the summit the next day. No meeting is scheduled in Gurgaon. All the events are in Delhi," a senior police officer said, as quoted by Business Today
