Jailed AAP leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain has been hospitalised due to a spine injury and is currently on oxygen support. Tihar jail officials have said that the former minister fell in the bathroom in the morning. This comes after he was taken to the Safdarjung Hospital on Monday to inspect a spinal problem. He was examined by doctors for a second opinion after he was taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital on Saturday. Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on May 31, 2022, in connection with a money laundering case.

AAP leader Satyendar Jain was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of LNJP Hospital in Delhi after he was referred there from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. He is on oxygen support.

Officials of Tihar jail said, "Today i.e on 25/05/2023 in the morning at around 6:00 am, UTP Dr Satendra Jain slipped/fell down in the bathroom of MI Room of the hospital of CJ-7, where he was kept under observation for general weakness. Then he was examined by the doctors. Vitals were normal. He was further referred to DDU Hospital as he complained about pain in his back, left leg and shoulder."

Blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Jain's condition, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: "The person who was working day and night to provide good treatment and good health to the public, today a dictator is bent on killing that good person. That dictator has only one thought - to finish everyone, he lives only in "I". He only wants to see himself."

"God is watching all, he will do justice to all. I pray to God for Satyendra ji's speedy recovery. May God give them the strength to fight against these adverse circumstances," he added in the tweet originally written in Hindi.

Lodged at Delhi's Tihar Jail since his arrest in connection with a money laundering case last year, Jain was taken to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital on Saturday but as he wanted a second opinion, he was taken to the Safdarjung Hospital, a senior jail official told news agency PTI.

He was examined by doctors at the Safdarjung Hospital for a spine problem, PTI reported an official as saying. "Jain visited the neurosurgery OPD in the morning and after being examined by the doctors there, he left. He was accompanied by police," a spokesperson of the Safdarjung Hospital said, as quoted by PTI.

"I pray to god for his better health. The people of Delhi are watching the arrogance and atrocities of the BJP. Even god will not forgive these oppressors. In this struggle, the people are with us and god is by our side. We are followers of Bhagat Singh and our fight against oppression, injustice and dictatorship will continue," Kejriwal tweeted in Hindi on Monday.

Earlier, senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Satyendar Jain, had told the Supreme Court the former minister has lost 35 kg and virtually became a skeleton. He is also suffering from various ailments, he had said, as per PTI.
