A 43-year-old taxi driver died after being dragged under the wheels of his own vehicle for several metres in Delhi. According to the police, the incident occurred when the man was resisting a carjacking attempt on a busy road in southwest Delhi's Vasant Kunj area, as reported by the news agency PTI.
A purported video surfaced online, showing the man being dragged under the car on Tuesday.

The Delhi Police said it received a call about a man's body lying near the NH-8 service road in Vasant Kunj North at 11.30 pm, PTI reported. The police have registered a case under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC, and a probe has been launched into the matter, as reported by the news agency ANI. The victim has been identified as Bijender, a resident of Faridabad in Haryana.
In January, a woman was hit and dragged by a car for around four kilometres in Delhi's Sultanpuri area on early Sunday morning. The victim, who was on a two-wheeler, died on the spot. After being hit by a car, the body became entangled in the wheel and was dragged alongside. According to the report, all five occupants of the car were arrested.
At 3:24 am, the police control centre received a call reporting that a car was seen dragging a body. At 4:11 am, police received another call reporting a woman's body on the road. Following that, the police alerted officers stationed at picket lines and began hunting for the vehicle, according to news agency ANI.
Anjali, the woman, was an Aman Vihar resident. Her mother, four sisters, and two brothers, one nine years old and the other thirteen, survive her. She was the eldest. Her father passed away some years ago.
