Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday in a veiled attack on Opposition parties said that they forget their promises after elections. He emphasised that everyone can make promises but the "strong point" of the Modi government is that it delivers services and projects in a given timeframe. While speaking at a function at Badarpur as part of BJP's mega outreach campaign 'Sampark Se Samarthan', he said that the Modi government delivers what it says. 'Sampark Se Samarthan' event marks the completion of nine years of the Narendra Modi government.

The Union Minister attended the function at the site of an Eco Park being developed at NTPC's Thermal Power Plant area in Badarpur. He praised the NTPC, South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri, and other local leaders working on the green project, news agency PTI reported.

"This Eco Park will become a new lung of Delhi. I congratulate all who are part of this project, and it will not only help in mitigating pollution, but enhance ease of living of people and ease of doing business too by promoting economic activities around it. Modi 'sarkar' doesn't just offer promises. It completes what work it starts in a given timeframe, and delivers it, shows it to people," he said, as quoted by PTI.

The Eco Park project is underway at the moment. Bidhuri said that the park is likely to be thrown open to the public in December.

The EAM during the event further remarked that "for Modi government, 'vikas' (development) is the first commitment, so it's a 'teerth' (pilgrimage) of commitments." In a veiled attack, he said that the people in Badarpur will also see which government delivers and which government only promises.

The saffron party organised a 'Vikas Teerth Yatra', starting from Eco Park at Badarpur. EAM Jaishankar and several senior BJP leaders became a part of it.
