In a fresh set of announcements, the Delhi government has announced Friday (Nov 24) as the dry day and ordered the closure of all liquor shops in the capital to observe Guru Teg Bahadur's martyrdom day. It said that instead of Christmas (December 25), the liquor shops will remain closed on Thursday, reported PTI citing a corrigendum of the excise department.


Officials said Christmas will no longer be a dry day as announced earlier by the excise department, reported the agency. 


Earlier, in its order issued on September 29, the department had declared six dry days during October-December, including December 25 when Christmas will be celebrated. Now the same has been changed to 


This has now been changed and Friday, Guru Teg Bahadur's martyrdom day, has been decided to be a dry day instead of Christmas, the officials added.
