A woman sustained minor injuries after an iron pipe fell on her from west Delhi's Subhash Nagar Metro Station. The incident occurred on Wednesday, but no serious injury or damage was reported, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) stated. According to news agency PTI, the iron rod fell onto a scooter, causing injuries to the 26-year-old woman, the police said. However, she declined to press charges despite sustaining injuries from the incident.






"We received an MLC from the hospital on Wednesday of a 26-year-old woman who received minor injuries. There was no damage to the scooter. As per the statement of the woman, she does not want any legal action against anyone as of now," a senior police officer said.


Emergency services promptly rushed to the scene to provide immediate medical assistance and facilitate the removal of the fallen pipe from the road.

In a video, people can be seen lifting the same pipe, white in colour which fell on the two-wheeler. 


The incident comes just a week after the death of a 53-year-old man who died after a wall collapse incident at Pink Line's Gokulpuri Metro Station. Four others were also injured in the incident. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced Rs 15 lakh in compensation for the family of the deceased. 


The DMRC also announced Rs 2.5 lakh for the grievously injured and Rs 50,000 for those who received minor injuries. 


The transporters also suspended two of its officials over the collapse. "Two DMRC officials, a manager and a junior engineer from the civil department, have been immediately suspended," as statement by the DMRC read.
