The Delhi Police on Thursday issued a traffic advisory for the border points of the national capital. As per the advisory, traffic will remain affected at at Jheel Khurd Border, Mandi Border, Aaya Nagar Border, DND Flyway, Kalindi Kunj, Badarpur, Palla, Surajkund and Karni Singh shooting range due to deployment of picket/checking on these points. 


The security arrangements at all the border points in Delhi were beefed up after the farmers started their 'Delhi Chalo' march, from Punjab, affecting the traffic movement in the national capital. 


As per the advisory, National Highway-44 beyond Singhu border has been completely closed for general traffic. Similarly, Tikri border, Jharoda Border, and Dhansa Border have also been completely closed for general traffic.

The inbound and outbound traffic from and to Haryana has been routed through Zero Palla, Singhu School Toll, Piao Maniyari, Saboli, Safiyabad and Lampur. However, the traffic remains heavy at these border points throughout the day and vehicles are being aloowed after due checking, the advisory stated. 


Two lanes on the NH-9, NH-24 at Ghazipur border, and DND are open for general public. 


"However, there is slow traffic movement, as such commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly and avoid these stretches specially during peak hours," the advisory read further.

In an advisory issued on Wednesday, the Delhi Police said it will be implementing a plan on trial basis for five days, starting Thursday, to avoid frequent traffic jams at the Bagga roundabout.


As per thea advisory, the Faiz Road will be open for one-way traffic from the Bagga roundabout towards Rani Jhansi Road.


During the trial period, the vehicles going towards Rani Jhansi Road via the roundabout will take the Faiz Road and the traffic on the opposite carriageway will be prohibited.
