A passenger named Ajay Kumar Bana who was travelling from Delhi to Bengaluru on an Air India flight was detained at the Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday after 19 live cartridges were discovered in his possession. The passenger did not have valid documents to carry live ammunition at the time of boarding. Delhi Police lodged a case against him under u/s 25 Arms at IGI Airport PS. An investigation into the matter is underway.

In a similar recent incident, Yashi Singh, a female passenger travelling from Delhi to Mumbai on an Akasa Air flight, was detained with 22 live cartridges as well as an empty one at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday. Delhi Police said she did not have valid documents and a case was registered under Section 25 Arms Act at IGI Airport Police Station while an investigation is underway, as per news agency ANI.


Delhi Police said that Yashi Singh was travelling with her family. Her father has claimed that he has a valid arms license and the ammunition belongs to him, as per the police who said the claim needs to be verified, ANI reported. 






In another incident, Hyderabad Customs officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport seized heroin worth Rs 14.2 crore from an African woman who arrived from Nairobi on Sunday morning. The passenger, a Burundi citizen, who arrived from Nairobi via Sharjah on July 2 aboard Air Arabia Airways Flight No. G9-458, was identified and intercepted based on passenger profiling and careful observation, officials said. The female passenger, aged around 43, has been arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985, and subsequently sent to judicial custody by the court.
