Delhi police have arrested a man, who allegedly strangled another individual to death for verbally abusing a security guard in south Delhi's Maidan Garhi area, the authorities said on Friday. According to a PTI report, the accused Ravindra, 32, is a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Etah, he used to work as a labourer at an event management company but left the job. He started residing at a DDA park as a vagabond and the security guard used to give him food.
The incident occurred on March 9 when a man named Ajay, 24, allegedly verbally abused the security guard. In retaliation, Ravindra decided to exact revenge by killing him.
Upon receiving a complaint regarding Ajay's disappearance, authorities traced his last known location near the DDA park in Rajpur Khurd Extension. Subsequently, Ajay's body was found lying near the park.
The police checked the footage,. From the CCTV, they saw Ajay entering the park with a man but they were not seen coming out, as per the PTI report. Footage from another CCTV camera around the park showed the suspect talking on a mobile phone. On checking Ajay's call log, it was found that the last incoming call on his phone was from his relative.

The relative told the police that a stranger received the call and introduced himself as Aslam. He told him that Ajay had borrowed Rs 3,000 from him and given him the phone in exchange.
Authorities managed to locate Ravindra at Ramphal Chowk in Sector 7 of Dwarka, where he was selling oranges while wearing the deceased’s shoes.
During interrogation, Ravindra confessed to the crime. He said Ajay was in an inebriated state and started abusing the security guard who used to give Ravindra food. This provoked him and since he was also under the influence of alcohol, he decided to teach him a lesson. Ravindra said that he befriended Ajay, purchased liquor with him and took him to an isolated area. When the victim got heavily drunk, Ravindra allegedly beat him up and strangulated him. Later, he took his mobile phone and shoes and fled the spot.
