The Delhi Police on Wednesday apprehended the man accused for writing graffiti at Delhi metro stations threatening Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The accused, Ankit Goyal, 33, was arrested for the graffiti after the metro unit of Delhi Police had filed a complaint against him in connection with the matter.

Goyal is a resident of Baraeli and is not associated with any political party. He is highly educated and works at renowned bank, an ANI report stated.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had launched a probe into the matter after pictures of the messages were shared via an Instagram account 'ankit.goel_91.'

These messages appeared at Patel Nagar, Patel Chowk, and Rajiv Chowk metro stations, and in Delhi Metro trains.

One of the messages, the pictures of which were shared by this instagram account read, "Kejriwal Dilli Chhor Dijiye. Please. Otherwise you will have to remember three slaps, which you planted (sic) before the election. Now the real and actual punch/slap will be there soon. Today's meeting at Jhandewalan...."

Apart from this, other graffiti against the Delhi CM included messages such as "#CM Delhi leave us, we don't need freebies anymore. #45 Crore on CM Awas."

Another longer message demanding clarifications on the liqour policy kickbacks and transparency in the Delhi Jal Board audit, was also shared on social media.

Following the incident, the Aam Aadmi Party had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP of conspiring an attack on the Delhi CM.

Delhi Minister Atishi Singh alleging the BJP's plot to attack Kejriwal stated the saffron party has been in a "state of panic" after the AAP supremo came out of jail.

"The BJP is now plotting to launch a deadly attack on Arvind Kejriwal," Singh alleged.
