Forest Fire in PoK Spreads to Indian Side, Security Forces on High Alert

In a separate incident, a forest fire that originated in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) extended to the Indian side, prompting heightened vigilance among security forces to counter any potential infiltration attempts during the situation, news agency PTI reported officials as informing.

The fire initially broke out in PoK late Friday night and swiftly spread to the Balakote sector in the Mendhar sub-division, along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

According to PTI, Officials revealed that an alert has been issued along the LoC to thwart potential infiltration by terrorists exploiting the cover of the raging blaze. The Indian Army, stationed to guard the LoC, is actively engaged in efforts to extinguish the fire and contain its spread.

"Army troops guarding the LoC are making efforts to put out the fire," PTI quoted the officials as saying.
