New Delhi: Parts of Delhi-NCR received light rain in the late hours on Monday, with the minimum temperature dropping by 5 degrees. In the last 24 hours, the temperature of the city dropped from 36.5 to 30.5.
News agency ANI also shared visuals of rain lashing parts of the national capital.
The weather office had earlier predicted a generally cloudy sky with light rain for the day with the maximum temperature expected to settle at 32 degrees Celsius.
The weather department has forecast a generally cloudy sky for Tuesday with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 31 and 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Delhi's air quality also showed a slight improvement on Monday and settled in the moderate category The AQI at 11 pm stood at 159.
The air quality is likely to be in the moderate category on Tuesday, and poor category on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the IMD.
An AQI between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor and 401-500 severe. An AQI above 500 falls in the severe plus category.
