New Delhi: The Delhi government has issued a notification to increase the salaries, allowances, pension and other benefits for the Delhi MLAs. With this, the salaries of the Delhi assembly MLAs will now increase and each one of the MLAs will get Rs 1 lakh to buy an office laptop, mobile and printer during each term.

As per an official document, following the assent of the President to the Members of the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (Salaries, Allowance, Pension, etc.) Act, 1994, Department of Law, Justice & Legislative Affairs, Delhi Govt issues notification to amend salaries, allowance, pension, etc. of Delhi MLAs.

The Law Department of the Delhi government has issued a notification of the salary hike after it was approved by the President. With the new increment, the Delhi MLAs will get a salary of Rs 90,000 per month and ministers, Chief Minister will get a monthly remuneration of  Rs 1.70 lakh per month.

Notably, the proposal to increase the salary and allowances of the MLAs and ministers was passed last year in July. Earlier, the MLAs of Delhi used to get a total of Rs 54,000 and Ministers and Chief Minister used to get Rs 72,000
