Delhi: Fire Breaks Out At Factory In Mangolpuri, No Casualties Reported

A fire erupted in factory in Delhi's Mangolpuri, 16 fire tenders were pressed into service. However, no casualties were reported.

A major fire broke out at a factory in Delhi's Mangolpuri area on Sunday night, however, it was later brought under control. However, no casualties were reported in the incident, according to a PTI report. Director of Delhi Fire Service (DFS) Atul Garg said that a call regarding a blaze in a factory at E-Block in Mangolpuri was received at 9:01 PM on Sunday.

"We got a call regarding a blaze in a factory in Mangolpuri at 9:01 pm on Sunday. A total of 16 fire tenders were pressed into service," Garg said. He also mentioned that it took approximately two hours to extinguish the flames.

The fire originated in an MCB-manufacturing factory covering an area of roughly 150 square yards, Garg explained. He further elaborated that the fire spread across the first, second, and third floors of the four-story building, and cooling operations are currently underway.

“Total 16 fire tenders were rushed to the site. Fire was in a MCB manufacturing factory with an area of approximately 150 square yards,” said Garg, as per an IANS report.

On the same night, a fire erupted in a house situated in southeast Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area during the early hours of Sunday. The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) received a call about the blaze, which originated on the first floor of the house, at 1:57 AM, leading to the dispatch of five fire engines to the location.

As per a senior DFS official, there were reports of individuals being trapped inside the house. The DFS team successfully rescued three individuals, including two senior citizens, one of whom has a disability. The official indicated that the fire appears to have been caused by a short circuit.

After the fire tenders arrived, the blaze was brought under control within approximately half an hour.
