New Delhi: On the occasion of Holi today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal began his day-long meditation and prayers for the "betterment of the country" in the wake of the arrests of two of his top ministers, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain. According to sources, Kejriwal will meditate for seven hours from 10 am to 5 pm today.

He paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Raj Ghat before starting his day-long pooja for the country. Kejriwal had on Tuesday said he will pray for the country on Holi as he claimed that those doing good work are being arrested while those looting the country are getting away with it.

Addressing a digital press conference, he had said he was worried about the state of affairs in the country. "Everyone knows that government schools and hospitals are in a bad shape... But two people -- Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain -- who improved these government schools and hospitals are in jail," he said.

"A country where the Prime Minister jails people who provide good education and good health facilities to people and supports those who rob the country, it is worrying…I will meditate and pray for the country tomorrow. If you also think what Prime Minister Narendra Modi is doing is wrong and you, too, are worried about the country, then I urge you, after celebrating Holi, please take out time to pray for the country," the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief urged.

The Chief Minister said he was not worried about Jain and Sisodia being in jail.

"They are brave and are ready to sacrifice their lives for the country. But the sorry state of affairs in the country worries me," he said.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy case on February 26 and was sent to judicial custody on Monday. Jain was arrested in May last year by the ED in connection with a money laundering case.

Both of them recently resigned from the Delhi cabinet.
