The Ashram flyover in Delhi will remain closed for 45 days from December 25 for commuters due to its extension to the New DND flyover, a Delhi Traffic Police advisory said.

Both carriageways of the Ashram flyover road will remain closed for 45 days from Sunday, December 25 and the traffic movement on the several stretches may be restricted/diverted, the advisory added.

“Due to the extension of the Ashram Flyover to the New DND Flyover, both carriageways of the Ashram flyover road will remain closed for 45 days from 25.12.22. Traffic movement on the following stretches may be restricted/diverted. Pls plan your commute accordingly,” Delhi Traffic Police tweeted.

The advisory said that the sideways of both the main carriageways will remain functional during this period.

Traffic Restrictions/Diversions

According to the advisory, the roads/stretches connecting the Ashram flyover and the outer ring road will be one of those routes impacted due to the diversion. DND flyover and both the side carriageways passing through Ashram Chowk will also be restricted/diverted as per the Police advisory.

Instructions To Public

Delhi traffic police has advised the general public to make optimum use of public transport to avoid any traffic congestion during the period. People have also been asked to park their vehicles at designated places only to avoid any problems.

Asking people to stay alert, the notice said that any unidentified/unusual object or person must be reported to the police immediately. It also asked people to plan and reach railway stations or airports well in time to avoid any unpleasant experience.

Instructions To PWD/Construction Agency

The Public Work Department (PWD) has been instructed to install traffic signals at Taimur Nagar T-Point and nearby bus stand for safe passage of traffic. It added that there should be a carriageway for the commuters coming from CV Raman Marg towards Sarai Kale Khan.

The construction agency has been asked to reconstruct the footpaths on both the carriageways on this stretch and CV Raman Marg for smooth pedestrian movements.

The closing will result in a traffic rush near Barapullah and ITO among others.
