A major traffic congestion was observed near ITO Chowk, Raj Ghat, and Vikas Marg on Friday as the roads leading to the BJP headquarters and the ED office were closed due to the AAP's protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, according to officials, news agency PTI reported. AAP leaders and supporters are staging a protest at the ITO intersection, near both the AAP and BJP headquarters on DDU Marg. Police officials asked protesters to disperse due to the prohibitory orders issued under section 144 which is enforced in the area.
Police have erected barricades on roads leading to DDU Marg and have closed several roads for vehicular traffic in central Delhi.
Sharing an advisory ahead of the protest on its official X handle, Delhi traffic police stated: "In view of the proposed protest by political party at DDU Marg Delhi, traffic will remain heavy at IP Marg, Vikas Marg, Minto Road and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg. DDU marg will remain closed for traffic movement. Kindly avoid these roads and plan your journey accordingly."

Massive traffic jams was also witnessed at Geeta Colony and Rajghat.
As the roads leading to ED office were also closed, the traffic police advised people to avoid Krishna Menon Marg, Motilal Nehru Marg, Janpath, and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
