A horrible murder case involving a 28-year-old lady who was strangled and sliced into bits by her live-in partner has shocked Delhi, with new facts surfacing every day. The murder, which occurred six months ago in May, was revealed on Monday after police solved the case and caught the suspect, news agency ANI reported.

The investigation centres on the death of Sharddha Walkar, a young woman who had moved out of her parents' home to live with her lover, Aftaab Amin Poonawala, since her parents disapproved of their relationship.

In May, the girl stopped communicating with her friends and family. Upon further inquiry, it was discovered that Aftaab had not only strangled the girl but had also cut her corpse into more than 30 parts, which he then kept in a refrigerator until he was ready to dispose of them.

According to the victim's friend, while Shraddha and Aftaab initially coexisted amicably, she later confessed to him that Aftaab beat her.

Speaking with ANI, Shraddha's friend Rajat Shukla stated: "Shraddha & Aftaab were in relationship since 2018. Initially, they lived happily, then Sharddha started telling that Aftaab beats her. She wanted to leave him but couldn't do so. They shifted to Delhi for job."

Another friend disclosed that after months of receiving no response from Shraddha, he called her brother and together they went to the police.

"I was worried about Shraddha since July as there wasn't any reply from her side. Her phone was switched off too. After enquiring about her among her other friends, I informed her brother & we approached police," said her another friend Laxman Nadir.
