Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nominees for the Rajya Sabha, including Swati Maliwal, Sanjay Singh, and N D Gupta, are poised to secure their seats unopposed, news agency ANI reported citing officials on Friday. The incumbent six-year tenure of Singh, N D Gupta, and Sushil Kumar Gupta concludes on January 27.

Former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Friday expressed her intention to address women's concerns at the parliamentary level after being elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. Maliwal credited Arvind Kejriwal for providing her with this platform.

"The women's issues that I used to address at the grassroots level, I will now raise them in the Parliament. I would like to express my gratitude to Arvind Kejriwal for giving me this opportunity," Swati Maliwal was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

AAP has chosen to nominate Singh and N D Gupta for a subsequent term. Meanwhile, Maliwal has been selected to fill the seat previously held by Sushil Gupta.

An official confirmed the unopposed status of the trio, stating that no other candidates had submitted nominations. Formal results will be declared later today, PTI reported.

"The three candidates are set to be elected unopposed since no other candidate has filed nomination. The results will be announced formally later in the day," an official told PTI.

The nomination filing deadline was January 9, with nomination reviews conducted on January 10. Candidates have until January 12 to withdraw their nominations if they choose to do so.
