The Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, whose long absence amid the mounting controversies sparked rumours, finally made his first public appearance on Saturday. The AAP MP was spotted arriving at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's official residence today. His visit comes at the time when the AAP is caught in the centre of another controversy, which broke out following AAP MP Swati Maliwal's "assault" allegations.

As per media reports, Chadha was in the United Kingdom, where he had undergone an eye surgery, as a result of which he was away from the political scenario physically.

As questions arose and rumours mounted over his long absence, the AAP cam forward and said that he would be back as soon as he recovers from the surgery.

Last month, a Delhi minister had stated that the AAP MP and husband of Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra, had developed a serious eye ailment that could have caused blindness had it not been treated in time.

In a statement issued by Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on May 2, he said: “Raghav Chadha has undergone a major eye surgery in the UK. It is said that his condition was serious, and there was a possibility of blindness. As soon as he gets better, he will return to India and join us in the election campaigning.”

Meanwhile, the troubles for AAP seem far from over as the latest allegations and FIR against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejrwal's close aid Bibhav Kumar, filed by the former Delhi Commission for Women chairperson, Maliwal, has attracted massive criticism from various Bharatiya Janata Party leaders.

AAP, on the other hand, has in turn accused Swati Maliwal of teaming with BJP and becoming a "face and pawn of the saffron party's conspiracy" against the AAP.
