Four BJP MLAs were marshalled out from the Delhi Legislative Assembly amid an uproar in the House over a discussion on Manipur. AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak began a  discussion over the violence in the northeastern state after which BJP MLAs arose in protest demanding that issues related to the national capital should be debated in the House. Amid the uproar, Abhay Verma, Jitender Mahajan, Ajay Mahawar, and OP Sharma were marshalled out of the House, news agency PTI reported.

BJP workers staged a protest after the party's MLAs were marshalled out from Delhi Legislative Assembly.

Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly and BJP MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri stressed that the only issues related to Delhi can be discussed in the Assembly. "Discussion on Manipur has been done in Parliament. They (AAP) are running away from the discussion. When we raise the issues of Delhi they (AAP) marshal us out," he told news agency ANI.

As the BJP MLAs began sloganeering, Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla questioned them saying, "Do they feel that Manipur is not an issue to be discussed in the Assembly? The UP Assembly also discussed the Manipur issue", PTI reported.

With the BJP MLAs continuing their protest, the four MLAs were marshalled out of the House.

As per PTI, AAP MLA Pathak remarked that it was unfortunate the BJP did not want a discussion over the Manipur issue. AAP legislators also raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it mentioned.

"Arvind Kejriwal's government is trying to suppress the voice of the opposition. We've staged a walkout from Assembly. We are demanding a discussion on 'Sheesh Mahal' and on the issues of Delhi," BJP MLA Vijender Gupta told ANI.

OP Sharma accused the Delhi government of not wanting to talk on issues of the national capital. "Today we said that the Manipur issue is being discussed in Manipur Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha. In Delhi Vidhan Sabha, issues related to Delhi issues need to be raised," he said, as quoted by ANI.

He also alleged that "there is corruption in every department of the Delhi government."

"There should have been seven-eight days of Delhi Vidhan Sabha session but they (Delhi government) called for a two-day session and then there will be discussion on Manipur instead of Delhi issues...we want discussion on 'Sheesh Mahal', corruption by Delhi government, condition of DTC buses and Delhi schools," Jitendra Mahajan told ANI.

BJP's Abhay Verma also contended that the assembly session is for discussing the issues of Delhi "but Kejriwal is raising Manipur issue." "Delhi roads are in pathetic condition, the Yamuna River is polluted, air pollution is increasing, and there are a lot of issues related to Delhi but they (Delhi government) don't want to discuss it...as per rule 55, I raised 'Sheesh Mahal' issue in the Assembly and asked for a discussion under rule 55 but they were not ready for a discussion," he was quoted as saying by ANI.
