A man stabbed a 20-year-old in Delhi on Saturday over an argument. A Delhi Police official looking into the matter said that the victim's 19-year-old cousin also got injured in the altercation. A probe into the matter has been initiated and efforts are being made to arrest the accused who remains at large. Joy Tirkey, DCP North-East while talking to news agency ANI said both the accused and the victim knew each other and had had arguments several times earlier as well. Meanwhile, PTI reported that paramilitary has been deployed in the area to prevent any communal flareups, police said. The investigation so far has revealed that the two had some ego clash.

The accused has been identified as Mohammed Zaid, the victim has been identified as Rahul and his cousin who also got injured during the fight has been identified as Sonu. However, Delhi Police has specifically said that there was no communal angle as both parties knew each other and have had arguments earlier as well. The DCP has also appealed to the people to maintain peace.

DCP North-East while talking to ANI on the matter said, "Mohammed Zaid stabbed Rahul after having an argument with him. Sonu also sustained injuries. Both Zaid and Rahul know each other and they earlier also had arguments several times. I would appeal to all to maintain peace as there is no such communal angle. It is just a scuffle between youngsters. We are trying to find Zaid, and his family members are also helping in this."

Meanwhile, Rahul's sister Madhu said, "We don't know the reason behind the attack, we got to know that an argument broke out and he immediately attacked my brother and cousin. One of them is in critical condition and is in ICU and the other one is stable."

Delhi Cabinet minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj in a tweet in Hindi attacked the BJP over the matter. "A stabbing incident in Brijpuri area of Delhi. It doesn't feel like this is the national capital. Now there is a Hindu-Muslim angle too. Now the BJP can raise a hue and cry, and can also question LG sir?" he said.
