A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three unidentified men in a forest in Odisha's Nayagarh district. The incident occurred on October 20, when she and he fiance were returning home after visiting Fategarh Ram Temple in the evening.


According to a PTI report, Khandapada Sub-divisional Police Officer Bimal Kumar Barik said, the three unknown persons stopped the couple near a Pithakhai forest and forcefully took them into the forest, where they gang-raped the woman and threatened her fiance with a knife.


The accused also recorded a video through their mobile phone and posted it on social media. “It has gone viral on social media,” Barik said.


The 21-year-old woman filed a complaint with Fategarh police station on Friday. Following this, the police detained three persons in connection with the case and began interrogating them. 


Her medical examination will be done, and her statement will also be recorded, as per PTI.


Madhya Pradesh Police Arrest 8 Who Raped A Woman


On Saturday, police in MP’s Rewa district arrest eight individuals in connection with the gang rape of a woman while she was on an outing with her husband. The police have apprehended 5 who allegedly raped the woman and 3 men who shot a video of the assault that occurred at a picnic spot in Gurh tehsil on October 21.


The woman had got married recently. The couple is in the age group of 19-20 years and is still in college. The couple approached the Gurh police station around 1:30 pm on Tuesday, and an FIR was registered later that evening.


As per the report, the woman said that she and her husband had had a fight near a fountain, about 2 km from a famous temple in the Gurh industrial area. Following this she alleged that the five men took turns raping her near the fountain, adding that it was also recorded in video.
